Whew, Now We Can Relax....PSYCHE!
Congratulations! Thanks to you, our line of defense has held against Big Labor's first assault, but the battle will NOT be over until this Congress adjourns.
As predicted, last night Senate Democrat Leader Harry Reid forced a vote to cut off debate and ram through the Police and Firefighter Monopoly Bargaining Bill (S. 3991).
The pro-forced unionism forces failed, thanks to your efforts - but we're not safe yet.
You see, with newly elected pro-Right to Work Congressmen and Senators taking office next month, Harry Reid may still try to launch another sneak attack during the little time remaining in the "lame duck" session.
Not only that, a handful of Republican Senators who voted against cutting off debate last night have still not apologized for their past support for versions of this union boss power grab.
Senators Scott Brown (MA), Susan Collins (ME), Mike Johanns (NE), Lisa Murkowski (AK), and Olympia Snowe (ME) have not indicated that they voted against cloture for any reason other than that they objected to Harry Reid proceeding to S. 3991 before resolving tax and budget matters.
That's why your National Right to Work Committee will remain on high alert. We promise to keep you informed of any last-minute desperation moves by Harry Reid to pay off his Big Labor pals.
Thank you again for everything you have done to fight back. Now, we must stay vigilant.
Sincerely,
Mark Mix
