President Obama has just launched a shocking power grab, jeopardizing laws defending marriage all across America.

Please read through this email, as it may be the most important one I will ever send you.

Attorney General Eric Holder just announced that, on orders from the President, he will no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in court. That's right, the Obama administration has formally declared that they will default on their duty to defend federal law.

In a statement released Wednesday, Attorney General Holder explained that President Obama has taken it upon himself to decide that the definition of marriage contained in DOMA is unconstitutional, and has ordered the Department of Justice to abdicate its constitutional duty and stop defending DOMA against constitutional challenges.

This is it. The whole ball game. If we back down here, it will be all over.

There's no time to sit back and watch this drama play out. If we don't act now, we could soon see President Obama override Congress and the courts, nullifying DOMA and ultimately forcing every jurisdiction in the nation to recognize same-sex unions as marriages.

We must act now to stop this assault on both marriage and our Constitution.

No president has the authority to unilaterally decide the constitutionality of our laws, retroactively vetoing laws they disagree with by refusing to defend them. DOMA was overwhelmingly passed by bipartisan majorities in Congress, and signed into law by a Democratic President, just fifteen years ago.  Like it or not, DOMA is the law of the land, and the President is duty-bound to defend our laws.  And yet President Obama has refused to do so.

It's not too late to make a difference. Attorney General Holder acknowledged that Congress has the ability to step in and defend DOMA.

And that's precisely why we need your help.

Please take immediate action today, by supporting our efforts with a gift of $25, $50, or even $100 or more to ensure that DOMA is defended, regardless of the Obama administration's position. With your help we can make this decision backfire on President Obama.

President Obama and same-sex marriage advocates know they can't win at the ballot box, they can't win in Congress, and they're afraid they will lose again in the courts . . . so they are attempting an extraordinary, extra-constitutional end run around democracy to impose their radical agenda.
