Why do Senate Democrats trust their Dear Leader less and less on the federal budget?  Because he's using them as political human shields, just as he used their (former) colleagues on both sides of Capitol Hill for the same purpose in the last electoral cycle:

I continue to be amazed that the one common bipartisan lament is the L'il President's lack of "leadership".  For Pubbies this means, "Why won't you abandon your blind ideological zealotry and join us in cleaning up the apocalyptic fiscal mess you've made?"  For Dems, it means "Why won't you join us in the trenches and put your money where your big, fat mouth is?"  The truth is, Godbama isn't "leading" on the debt issue because he's got the government's finances right where he wants them: spiralling out of control towards total collapse.  And as to his Senate allies, as Magneto said before sending the Brotherhood of Mutants into the Battle of Alcatraz in X-Men III: The Last Stand, "That's why the pawns go first."
