Qaddafi Threatens “Thousands of Libyans Will Die” If NATO Intervenes
As opposed to if we don't intervene, in which case thousands of Libyans will still die.
I actually don't think we should go in because there isn't anything in it for us - if we stay out and Daffy survives, a U.S. enemy will remain in place; if we go in and ensure Daffy's overthrow, we more or less hand another oil-rich Arab country over to the Islamists, guaranteeing the ascent to power of another U.S. enemy. Besides which, as Speaker Boehner keeps reminding us, "We're [still] broke".
How's this for a condition: We'll impose a no-fly zone if we get Libya's oil fields in return. Pay-as-you-go liberation. It's the twenty-first-century American way!
