1. CBS Looks at 'Cost' and 'Tragedy' of Rick Perry's Refusal to Raise Taxes, Skips Anti-ObamaCare Ruling
Friday night’s CBS Evening News examined Rick Perry’s record in Texas, citing his claims his policies led to job creation but then pivoting to how “Perry's bedrock pledge to never raise taxes also had a reckoning this year.” Reporter Wyatt Andrews relayed liberal claims that “with taxes not an option, the state cut deeply into health care and so deeply into education, some 49,000 teachers are being laid off.” He prompted a teacher: “Do you see a Texas miracle?” She retorted, “No, I see a Texas tragedy” as Andrews related that she “calls her layoff the cost of low taxes.”

2. NBC Host to Michele Bachmann: Have You Ever Influenced Debate in Washington?
On Friday's NBC Today, fill-in co-host Lester Holt interviewed Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and was skeptical of her political relevance: "Can you name an instance where you have moved the needle, where you have significantly altered the outcome of a particular debate?" Bachmann pointed to her stand on the debt ceiling as evidence: "In particular now, on the last two months when I've been the leading voice, almost the lone voice in the wilderness of Washington, fighting against raising the debt ceiling, people paid attention." Holt replied: "But they didn't follow."

3. Ex-CNN Exec 'Outs' Self as Liberal, Laughably Claims Counterpoint Needed to Conservative Media Dominance
“I think there's a lot of time on radio and television and on the Web that actually is conservative points of view. There's not a lot of time for the left,” long-time CNN executive David Bohrman, the new President of Current TV, the channel co-founded by Al Gore which is Keith Olbermann’s new home, laughably claimed late Sunday morning in a live interview on CNN’s Reliable Sources. Bohrman, who worked at ABC News and NBC News before joining CNN in the mid-1990s, admitted he “outed” himself as a liberal by jumping to Current TV, proclaimed “I also think that the left needs to recapture patriotism and not let the right own the flag and own patriotism” and even saw MSNBC’s prime time as too balanced.

4. Ex-NBC News Chief Gartner: People Don't Blame Obama 'for Anything That's Wrong in This Country'
Asked how Iowans view President Barack Obama, Michael Gartner, the President of NBC News from 1988 to 1993, insisted on this weekend’s Bloomberg TV’s Political Capital: “I think people have a fondness for him and I don’t think people blame him for anything that’s wrong in this country,” except, that is, “the far-right of the Republican Party.”

5. CNN's Piers Morgan Cheerleads for Obama
CNN's Piers Morgan tried to breathe some life into Obama's flagging presidency Wednesday, maintaining that America "needs" the President to get back in touch with his voters. "Well, we need some audacity and some hope, I think," the prime-time host professed at the end of the segment, sounding an awful lot like an Obama campaign volunteer. "Yeah, we need the President to reconnect with his voters really, don't we?" he wondered.

6. CNN Hosts Team Up to Peddle Liberal Line on Tax Cuts
CNN's Christine Romans and Ali Velshi tried to argue that no evidence exists linking tax cuts to job creation while interviewing Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) Thursday, on America's deficit problem. The financial gurus challenged Toomey's conservative point that tax hikes should be off the table as a revenue increase, because they would hurt the economy. "So, where is the evidence that not cutting taxes creates jobs?" Ali Velshi asked. "We haven't seen it."

7. Ex-Girlfriend Accuses Leftist Billionaire Soros of Violence; NBC Carries Story But Omits His Politics
NBC's Today show on Friday managed to avoid any ideological labels for a story on violence charges against the very liberal George Soros. Instead, reporter Mike Taibbi simply described him as "rich." In contrast, Good Morning America identified Soros as "liberal." Both Today and ABC's GMA covered the story of Adriana Ferreyr, Soros' 28-year-old ex-girlfriend who is claiming that the left-wing billionaire attacked her and reneged on an offer to purchase an apartment. Yet, Taibbi never mentioned the ideology of Soros or the millions of dollars he's given to left-wing causes.
