GIBSON GUITAR FACTORY RAIDED This week, Gibson Guitar company was raided for the second time in two years by 20 heavily armed Homeland Security and Fish and Wildlife Agents under the direction of the Obama Justice Department. What specifically were the agents looking for that required such violent force? Legal wood imported from India that is used to build and manufacture the American made guitars. The Justice Department wants Gibson Guitar owners to carry paper work proving that the wood used on their guitar is legal. Gibson CEO Henry Juszkiewicz has said publically his company has done nothing wrong and will fight in court for its innocence. There is a also a possibility Gibson is being unfairly targeted for political donations made by the company to republicans rather than democrats.
OBAMA TO CALL FOR MORE STIMULUS President Obama is finally back from his swanky Martha’s Vineyard and has been back at work in preparation for his September jobs speech next week. What is the President prepared to ask America for this time? Another stimulus package. Obama will propose an additional $109 billion in infrastructure spending, despite the idea already failing in the House and Senate with disregard to the failed and wasted $1 trillion in the first stimulus round.
OBAMA HIRES ANOTHER PROFESSOR TO SHAPE ECONOMIC POLICY Academic in, academic out, academic in to replace the previous academic. This week President Obama replaced Chief White House Economist and University of Chicago Research Professor Austan Goolsbee with Princeton Professor Alan Krueger. Kruegar, like Goolsbee, has no business or real world experience, but he does have a fancy economics degree from Harvard. You’d think that Obama would appoint a small business owner, maybe even a CEO, or simply someone with some kind of private sector business experience to give him advise about how to get the private sector moving again, but no, he’s tapped another Princeton professor to get the job done. Earlier this year, Krueger predicted unemployment would decrease. The man isn’t exactly off to a good start.
ATF ACTING DIRECTOR MOVING TO DOJ Rumors are swirling surrounding a "shakeup" of personnel within the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson, the man who watched Operation Fast and Furious being carried out through a live video feed in his cushy Washington D.C. office, has been moved to Department of Justice Office of Legal Policy, which oversees ATF. When contacted about whether the move was actually a promotion, the Obama DOJ press office responded with "I don't have anyone who can answer your question at this time.” There is a strong possibility Melson is being promoted, either for helping the Obama Adminstration to implement more gun control regulations or as a way to get him to shut up after giving testimony to the House Oversight Committee, rather than punishing him for his involvement in the lethal scandal, after all, three agents who were the brains behind Fast and Furious were promoted just two weeks ago.
MICHELE BACHMANN TO RELEASE MEMOIR Soon, America will be able to read all about Michele Bachmann when she releases a memoir in the Fall. The book will include stories about Bachmann’s personal life in order to give Americans, and voters, a better-rounded perspective of the presidential hopeful. Many of Bachmann’s primary competitors have already released personal memoirs, including President Obama.
OBAMA’S ILLEGAL ALIEN UNCLE ARRESTED Sixty-seven year old Kenyan native Onyango Obama was arrested over the weekend for drunk driving in Massachusetts. Turns out Onyango is President Obama’s uncle and used his single jail house phone call to contact the White House. When you’ve got friends in high places, why not take advantage right? This isn’t the first illegal alien we’ve learned is related to POTUS. Obama’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, was living in the United States illegally and in public housing for years before she was granted asylum when President Obama took office. Zeitunin denies her nephew helped in the decision.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK Presidential Candidate Rick Perry on Social Security:
“It is a Ponzi scheme for these young people. The idea that they’re working and paying into Social Security today, that the current program is going to be there for them, is a lie.”
